Supporting Our Local Treasure
The Friends of the Oakdale Library is a 501(c)(3) corporation consisting of volunteers who support, advocate and raise funds for our local library. None of what we do is possible without the support of our donors and volunteers who help keep our library thriving.
A Little About Us
The Friends of the Oakdale Library are dedicated library supporters committed to enhancing the library’s services and resources. Our mission is to foster a love for reading and learning in the community. We support events, fundraisers, and educational programs to assist with the library’s growth and maintain this treasure for the Oakdale community.
Shrinking municipal budgets combined with the nonstop technological revolution, can be offset by public library services
that focus on community. It is precisely the shrinking budgets and the onslaught of technologically mediated life that make public libraries’ cultural and community offerings more important now than ever.
The Friends of the Oakdale Library provide monetary support and materials for 98% of the Oakdale library programs, by monies raised through our fundraising efforts.
